When your child needs to take medicine for certain symptoms, it's important for you to choose the correct medication and give the appropriate dose. If you have any questions, please check the medication insert instructions or call your pediatrician.
Ibuprofen

Ibuprofen is the active ingredient in Motrin and Advil.

Used to reduce fever, swelling, and pain.

DO NOT give to a child under 6 months of age.

Ibuprofen can be given every 6-8 hours.
Benadryl
Measurement Conversions
1/2 tsp = 2.5 ml = 2.5 cc
1 tsp = 5 ml = 5 cc = 1/3 tbsp
1 1/2 tsp = 7.5 ml = 7.5 cc = 1/2 tbs.
3 tsp. = 15 ml = 1 tbs. = 1/2 oz.

Benadryl's active ingredient is diphenhydramine.

Used to reduce hives and itchy rashes.

May cause drowsiness, dizziness.

Benadryl can be given every 6-8 hours.
